About Off Leash Dog Training

Training isn't just about ours dogs to me, its about helping you become the handler you want to be.

Training people has tied most of my jobs together whether it be teaching a child the joys  of canoeing, an adult to budget and live in the community or a manager understand the work challenges their employees face.

During this time I have always owned my own pet dog and understand the need for a companion that gets us out and about, whether this is to relieve the stresses of the day, a unconditional love, or a walking partner.

As a pet owner I didn’t believe in dog training (shock horror!) as my dogs were just companion dogs, they didn’t need to be able to do like they do on Crufts. But in reality I did training, just didn’t realise that I worked my dogs, socialised my dogs, trained them in a form of agility or enriched their lives as it was just the same as what we did with our family dogs as I grew up.

The training started when I experienced fear aggression with my springer spaniel  and separation anxiety with my lab cross collie. Then having to take advice and guidance from experts, reading countless amounts of books etc did I start to understand how easily these things can be prevented at an early age and with a bit of forethought for training.

I started doing ‘official’ training when lab x was an older girl. And she excelled much quicker than I though (and so did I). With in a few months I attending an courses as I knew I could bring my skills as a people trainer to the joys of dog training. With a supportive and professional attitude and a bit of fun thrown in for good measure. As learning a new skill can be difficult so let’s make it as enjoyable as possible.

Roll on a few years (cough, cough) and I'm still learning, still training my own dogs, still attending training courses to make me the best trainer I can be for you and your dog.

Our training is support and creative for you and your dog. We want you to be the best handler you can be.
